Season Openers

The golf season kicked off this weekend in fine fashion.
Friday night over 60 members enjoyed a delicious dinner served by our esteemed dining room staff.  We enjoyed the company of Mike Moraghan, Executive Director of the CSGA and his wife Nadine.  Thanks Mike for sharing some great stories of the club.

We then had 13 teams compete in our Season Opening Men's Member-Member on Saturday morning.  Although the weather was a little suspect in the morning it cleared up to be a fine afternoon.

Tim White and Eaun King were our Gross Division winners with a score of 74
Steve Funk and John Scanlon were our Net Division winners with a score of 57

Fun was had by all and we have now officially begun our golf season.

Fields Cup Qualifying

If you are not familiar with the Field's Cup, it is a Ryder Cup style match that we play against Highfield CC in Middlebury Connecticut the weekend after Labor Day. It is the best fun you can have with your clothes on!                                                               Paul Stancs, 1983 Every year we ask those interested to qualify so we can build our team on merit.  If you are interested in representing our club in a very competitive interclub match with a lot of tradition, come try out and put in some scores. The event includes one day of matches down at Highfield and one day of matches at Litchfield. The dates are September 7th and 8th.   To qualify, you must put in at least two qualifying scores from August 1st through August 31st. A qualifying score must be an attested round of 18 holes of golf. The low individual qualifier is the Captain of this year's Field's Cup team. In all we take 12 contestants.
